I would not power your GoPro via the Tarot.I believe you cannot power the camera without a battery, that and you run the risk of frying the gimbals controller board. It has been mentioned here in the past that useing the 5volt out from the controller board can and will fry it. I also herad these rumours and you have just confirmed it. I can find different source of power for that so not a big problem. The question still remains, is it possible to use gopro without battery in this gimbal?

The Tarot T-2D is a popular low cost 2-axis brushless gimbal. Download and unzip the Tarot Gimbal Firmware v1.5 zip file to a convenient place on your. We will stop distributing and updating “2.4G Bluetooth DataLink Installer v1.0.0.6”,'Phantom 2 Assistant Software v3.8, Phantom 2 Assistant Software v3.6,Phantom RC Assistant Software v1.2( for WIndows & Mac)' on May 15, 2018, including adaptations to the new version of the operating system.

Any special settings? From my observations gimbal was not designed to be used without battery in the camera but I belive there must be a solution to this. Does anyone here know if this zip file will unzip on an old Windows XP machine? I have tried with a Packard Bell Easynote laptop and when I double click the file WinZip comes up, I click the 'Agree' button and. No files showing. I tried downloading the latest version of winzip, double clicked the file and after a few moments it says 'configuration file missing'. Is there any other unzip program I could use to unzip the Tarot software with?

Very frustrating as I have bought the Turnigy Mobius Tarot gimbal and cannot use it. Hope someone can help, regards. Download free winrar (or winace)for windows and it all shoud work for you. Your files should be visible in winrar, if not the package might be corrupted. I also herad these rumours and you have just confirmed it.

I am sure the gimbal needs the battery weight for the factory balance set up.

I am curious why you want to do away with the battery? Download free winrar (or winace)for windows and it all shoud work for you. Your files should be visible in winrar, if not the package might be corrupted.

Hi thanks, I'll have a look at those. I did email Tarot and got a reply very soon saying I should download and try jzip. It comes with extra unwanted baggage like a music downloader that you must download before allowing the downloading of jzip, but I got there in the end. Had a few hiccups using it though because my knowledge of Windows' systems is a bit hazy these days (long time Mac user), but after realising that you double click on the driver to install it rather than the old way where Windows looks for an 'INF' file it all started to work OK. Plugged the USB lead in, COM port 11 selected, load in the config file, write to flash and bingo! I now have a working Mobius Tarot gimbal I'll try it outside tomorrow if it's any kind of decent flying weather.

Flight Video:- Thanks for the help, Regards, Mike. Well done, glad you have your fimbal up and running. I had to flash my controller to version 1.5 and motors to 1.14 if i remeber right. All small wibrations went away. Remeber to calibrate your gimbal, i forgot to do it and camera wasnt leveled properly. I will also try to do some flying but im grounded for now until the weather gets better. Got a question went through about 50 somth posts and couldnt see anything relating.

When tilting my quad forward and getting to about 20. tilt the ( on full manual forward flight quad gets to about 40-45. degree tilt) the tilt motor shakes and then resets. Pointing tilt for example when flying backwards it it tilt almost 90. no probs Any idea how to extent and stop that from happening? I havent set any settings at all so all aout of the box and seem to work ok except that tilt.

Thanks Serg Ps using mobius camera with HK mobius case to get it like gopro 3 size. As said above when off it does fall to tilt motor side but guess it has nothing to do with the prob i got.

Hi ctraxx, There seems to be a problem with the weight distribution when the Mobius sits on the gimbal shelf, i.e. It is too light and under no power it falls heavily to the side on which the tilt motor resides. This is causing a vibration once the quad is in the air outside in breezy conditions, and this vibration persists even after it lands and the motors are turned off.

Please see the following video. I'm not at home at the moment, but when I do get home next Sunday evening I will try and get a static balance by using some weights on the gimbal shelf. After I have tested this I will post the results which might help others on here. I dont know if this helps but try to increase the motor power (try small steps) also play a bit with roll gains. Im currently using gopro with cetrally polarised lens so it a bit heavier on one side, plus its running without battery so there is a lot of difference on one side of the gimbal.

It does perform well but proper testing will be done in few days. Updating gimbal to version 1.5 and motors to 1.4 made a huge difference. If you have not done that yet, please do so.

This might be caused by your end points either on the tx or the settings of the gimbal itself.

Im using my gimbal based on the position of the slider on my taranis. Try changing maximum angle of the gimbal. Another thing i have noticed is the proper gains settings and if not set right gimbal might work fine but at certain position of the camera it might start shaking or loose sync and restart from scratch. Thats all that comes to my mind.

You need to adjust the arm mount on the roll motor until it is all the way over to the side towards the tilt motor. See the attached picture. You can also move the Mobius away from the tilt motor on the mounting plate if you need to. This might be caused by your end points either on the tx or the settings of the gimbal itself.

Thanks for reply, thing is i dont have gimbal conected to any channel on my Rx im using it purley for stable video, ill just have to see some basic setup to start from, will play around with setting and see what comes out.
